My First Visit
On your first visit, you will be welcomed by a member of our staff.
A form will be filled
out by you to give us more information about your condition and/or concerns.
Your personal health information will be protected and held private.
Dr. Leigh will spend time with you to discuss the information that you have provided. To help identify the cause of any problems you may have, your health history, family health history, and your lifestyle, including recreation and work-related physical activity will be discussed. THe following will also be reviewed: such factors as occupational postures; exercise; nutrition; stress; age, time period that injury has been present; past injuries; sleep positions; etc.
Based on the findings of your history, examination, and other testing, the chiropractor may recommend an individualized program to realign your spine and improve your health. If the problem involves an area other than your spine, a specific plan will be recommended for the condition. If needed, the chiropractor will consult with, or refer you to, other healthcare specialists about your condition.
Physical, orthopedic, and neurological testing can help reveal the condition of your spine and body. You might receive static testing, motion testing, and palpation testing check for pain, swelling, tenderness, vertebral motion, as well as, spinal range of motion. Vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, and pulse) will be reviewed to differentially diagnose your condition.
As blueprints of your spine and other areas of the body, X-rays can reveal misaligned vertebrae, fractures, arthritis, diseases, anomalies, or other problems. If needed, additional tests may be performed. X- rays may not always be required. The saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words", can never said to be more true with regards to an x-ray and chiropractic. An x-ray can help to pull all the pieces of the evaluation puzzle together to ensure a correct diagnosis and a more effective treatment regimen.
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, Dr. Leigh will ask you to schedule your next appointment. At your present or next appointment, he will discuss his findings and make his recommendations for your specific treatment program.
